To our contractors and property owners:
As you are all aware, the COVID-19 situation has required some aggressive actions to prevent the spread of this virus. This has included orders from the Governor including the closing of restaurants and bars, as well as other public gathering places. Livingston County made the decision late yesterday to close all non-essential departments. Currently, the East Complex building is closed to the public. We are attempting to continue to issue permits, and conduct inspections, but will need to make some process changes to protect our staff and the public.
We are directing our contractors and property owners to contact us via phone or email regarding the status of current permits or application for new permits. We are attempting to perform our permitting processes as virtual as possible. As a reminder, our building is closed to the public. Please do not make the trip without prior arrangements with the appropriate department.

Please understand that this change in process will likely result in some delays for response and permit issuance. We are trying our best to keep operations as normal as possible for you in light of this public health situation. As COVID-19 continues to develop, we may need to make additional changes to our staffing levels and processes. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we try to work through this together!
