DPW Full Time Beginning Skilled Laborer

The City of Howell is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Department of Public Works Beginning Skilled Laborer; starting salary is $18.32/hr to $20.17/hr DOQ.  Applicant must have valid State of Michigan driver’s license with class “B” CDL certification or the ability to obtain.  Previous experience or knowledge of equipment, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities, and the ability to perform heavy manual tasks is required.  Pre-employment physical exam including drug screen will be required.  This position includes the following:

  • Full benefit package including medical, dental & vision insurance
  • $50,000 life insurance policy
  • Short term/long term disability coverage
  • Retirement under the MERS Defined Benefit Pension System

Police Officer - Updated April 11, 2019 

The City of Howell, Michigan is seeking qualified applicants for Police Officer.

2019 Starting Salary:  $45,220 - $46,904/year.

Current maximum salary after 4 years of service:  $71,358.

Reimbursement of Police Academy tuition:  Successful applicants without active MCOLES licensing may be eligible for this economic incentive reimbursed over a 2 year period after successful completion of the FTO program.
