DPW Full Time Beginning Skilled Laborer

The City of Howell is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Department of Public Works Beginning Skilled Laborer; salary range is $17.87/hr to $19.68/hr DOQ.  Applicant must have valid State of Michigan driver’s license with class “B” CDL certification or the ability to obtain.  Previous experience or knowledge of equipment, methods and procedures used in maintenance, construction and repair activities, and the ability to perform heavy manual tasks is required.  Pre-employment physical exam including drug screen will be required.  This position includes the following:

  • Full benefit package including medical, dental & vision insurance
  • $50,000 life insurance policy
  • Short term/long term disability coverage
  • Retirement under the MERS Defined Benefit Pension System

DPW Beginning Skilled Laborer Job Description

DPW Fall & Winter Temporary Full Time Positions - Updated 8.31.2018

The City of Howell is seeking qualified applicants for temporary help in The Public Works Department; 40 hours per week for the fall and/or winter months.  Temporary work will consist of street maintenance, leaf pickup, snow plowing and other general labor tasks.   Starting hourly wage $11.00/hour; premium wage up to $15.00/hour for applicants with a Class
B Commercial Drivers License; experience with truck driving & snow plowing.

Police Officer 

The City of Howell, Michigan is seeking qualified applicants for Police Officer.

2018 Starting Salary:  $44,117 - $45,760/year.

Current maximum salary after 4 years:  $64,646.

Reimbursement of Police Academy tuition:  Successful applicants without active MCOLES licensing may be eligible for this economic incentive reimbursed over a 2 year period after successful completion of the FTO program.
