Starting with the August 5, 2008 Primary Election, Precincts 1 and 2 will be voting at Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESA). The LESA Administration Building is located at 1425 W. Grand River (corner of W. Grand River and Highlander Way), approximately ½ mile west of the Howell Recreation Center.
The LESA Administration Building has a large parking lot behind the building with driveways on W. Grand River and Highlander Way. On election day, please use the main entrance located on the south side of the building adjacent to the parking lot. After entering the building, please follow the signs to Precincts 1 and 2 which will be located in the McGuffey conference room on the right. Click HERE for a detailed map.
The Michigan Supreme Court recently ruled that a provision of Michigan Election Law which requires voters to present picture identification at the polls is constitutional and enforceable.
Voters are now required to present picture identification as part of the application to vote process. The Election Inspector will check the photo and name appearing on the identification to verify the voter’s identity.
Voters who do not have acceptable picture identification or are not in possession of picture identification must sign an affidavit prior to voting. For more information on this new requirement, please follow the link to the official notice from the Michigan Bureau of Elections.
Registered voters can now be placed on the City of Howell's Permanent Absentee Voter List. Complete the application form and return it to the Clerk's office. Once you are added to the list, you will automatically receive an application for Absentee Ballot approximately six weeks prior to each election without calling to request it.
